Parkville?
[edit]The link to the citation failed. I searched manually for the reference. However,a reference to 'Parkerville' is not found as cited. The citation notes the name 'Lefleur's Bluff' rather than 'Parkerville'. I have corrected this once before so it might be vandalism.Church of the Rain (talk) 01:34, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
Native Americans section
[edit]I don't know if it's just me, but the "Native Americans" block of the article's history section appears to be wildly biased in favor toward the viewpoint of the native Choctaw inhabitants. This section below is just one such example:
The area now called Jackson was obtained by the United States under the terms of the Treaty of Doak's Stand in 1820, by which the white man stole the land owned by the Choctaw Native Americans. After the treaty was ratified, European-American terrorists began to invade the area, so many that they encroached on remaining Choctaw communal lands.
I don't know who added this, but it is incredibly biased and lacks any encyclopedic nature. Even the "reference" cited is just a photocopied Wikipedia article on the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek. I'd make the revisions to the paragraphs myself, but I'd rather report it and leave it to someone more informed on the background to resolve the issue. Missing?
[edit]I didn’t see a section on Reconstruction? The Mississippi Plan and Sovereignty Commission also seem to be absent? And are crime issues covered? FloridaArmy (talk) 13:42, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- I added sectioning for the Reconstruction. Coverage needs to be expanded. I noted the Mississippi Plan in context. The establishment of schools for African Americans and African American representation in government needs to be added to the Reconstruction section. FloridaArmy (talk) 13:51, 1 June 2022 (UTC)

Poorly written
[edit]I don't have time to do it myself but many sections of this article read like an 8th grade history report, and there are some subtle grammar errors, for instance missing commas between clauses. It doesn't affect the factual content to my knowledge, but it was distracting enough for me to notice. The Native American section with the quotations from the Choctaw is particularly bad. Many sections are also poorly organised and as noted elsewhere read like bullet-point lists. 87.254.85.72 (talk) 06:46, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
Flag is not up to date
[edit]On the “quick facts” part of the article, the flag is showing a old version of the Mississippi flag. please fix this. 2600:1700:35A0:6930:D917:3335:B97F:4832 (talk) 20:14, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
Weather stats
[edit]Anyone know how to add the average dew points? I have noticed that on other cities but missing on this one. 132.147.157.65 (talk) 04:34, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
Sports
[edit]The Mississippi Braves are relocating to Columbus, Georgia after the 2024 season. I think it would be a good idea to note that on the Jackson, MS page. Here is a link from the Minor League Baseball site.
